sorry, just noticed that my code got erase cause i put it in php tags

anyway, to loop through all the pages in your database use a while loop. you can convert from within like this:

$query = mysql_query("SELECT `page` FROM `netlumdb`.`table_name`");
while($temp = mysql_fetch_array($query))
{
............. $temp["page"] will be the page you're working with ...........
............ you can put both the xml and page to url generator in here ..............
}

so, do the loop while mysql_fetch_array is true for your mysql query

Hi,

Thanks for posting this.

First of, I don't think everyone's pages are databased. I had to make a web crawler for my site, since the pages were not databased.

Some suggestions for the code.

1) Only get the columns you need from your DB. This saves resources. So, "select * from Articles" should be "select `url` from Articles" or something like that"

2) to loop through all your results use a while function not a for function. I do things a little different. Instead of mysql_result I use. mysql_fetch_array, so my loop looks something like:

// your convert $temp["page"] to a url would go here, and then you would print the converted url..... my web crawler puts the urls directly into the database

This is what was looking for, I am using Joomla CMS for me few sites. I would love to have all stuff indexed in google with auto updation, like mentioned in this article.

There may be several hundred links in my XML sitemap file, if not thousands. I am afraid, if google access my sitemap.php to get the xml code, it may result in timeout stuff.

May be for bigger sites, it would be better to create a physical sitemap.xml file with sitemap.php.

Anyway, will work it out as mentioned.
