How to survive a zombie attack: in Britain - Random

good ideas and living in england i can see where your coming from, although some weapons are hard to get hold of others are far easier heres my idea.
i already have a high powered 6mm automatic pellet pistol (i know it doesnt sound good but it went 7 inches into a concrete post from a distance of nearly 10feet), crossbow, numerous swords and knives, and an air rifle. so i think id be ok until i had a little more time.
i was in cadets for 4 years so ive had plenty of training with weaponry and feild tactics i also know hth combat and being in the cadets it gave me the opertunity to learn to fly a plane, i may try this but it has been a while so id rather not. my other mode of transport would be my dads pickup the toyota hilux (topgear couldnt destroy it so it would last.) which has lots of space for supplies and my mountain bike. my dad on the other hand would be leading the way in his 60 tonne truck which he drives everyday and would be more than capable of moving cars or zombies or whatever. so taking my most trustworthy contacts who are all good fighters and have weapons of there own i would head north.
i would stay away from main roads and hope to go to the far north of scotland maybe even to the aisle of skye, where any unprotected flesh would freeze reanimated or not. i would build a defense and hold a colony for aslong as it took for the zombies to die.

All are good sugestions, but remember hiding isnt always a a good idea. If the country does get over-run, the army/goverment are going to go to drastic measures to stop the spread..... nuclear warfare. If you can be safe but visible, or make your where abouts visible from the air, there a better chance of getting airlifted to safety, in a basement/attick you wont be seen from anywhere, good iif theres shit loads of zombies, bad if the army are cutting about in challenger II's. Luckly for me I live in a seaside town in West Coast Scotland where theres a yacht haven which can be extremly handy to get to the Islands (about 2 hours sail there a place called holy isle, no much contact with the outside world and a monestery there) and option B: about an hours walk, 10 minutes drive is an open roofed castle on a hill, with 3/4 floors and a heavy gate. take everything into mind, present time, 16 weeks after Z-day, and after that. good luck to all if worst comes to worst.

You're forgetting one thing: You guys have a lot of castles over there, and they were all designed to be easily defensible. If you had time, you could move yourself and your supplies into a castle. Obviously you'd want to avoid crumbling castles (the last picture I saw of Caerphilly looked pretty bad, although that was years ago), but a well-preserved castle like Bodiam would do nicely. And definitely make sure you are in good physical shape and have good melee fighting skills, either armed or empty-handed. I'd rather have a .45 automatic or a .30-06 rifle, but it's always good to have a plan B or C or even D. Also, I'm a little uncertain of CallumCR's flat roof idea. Your only supplies would be whatever you had time to bring with you, and you would be completely exposed to the elements. One last thing: use side roads to escape. Everyone is going to take the expressway, which results inevitably in traffic jams, which in the event of a zombie attack can be really freakin' dangerous!

I would straight to my hometown, Sunderland. With the people living there, it basically is a zombie infested shithole so I know how to defend myself.

But seriously, I would head to a building with a flat roof and little access, such as only having a ladder, and then knock the ladder down. It's funny how 28 Days Later is on the TV right now.

well if we have already assumed that the army can beat anything why dont we all just:
get food, fashion a weapon, lock up the house, stay in the basement or on the second floor of your home (take out the stairs: ZSG) or an attic and wait.

I personally would do a little research and find out how the space in any nearby warehouses is being used, hide there, they are not the first places to get looted.

Well it’s a good job my place has tonnes of swords, cos they will get a lot of use :P most r battle ready so they’d last. Also, having martial arts experience helps, cos a bo staff will be your best friend in a pinch. Ad as for food? Tescos roof and a packet of wotsits and i’d just wait for them to come up one by one and just decapitate them. lovely.

In the event of a full scale zombie outbreak in Britain, i would avoid supermarkets as everyone would be looting them for supplies and even if you could secure the supemarket what if the zombies break in, you’ll be surrounded and killed.
Get to the countryside far from major towns and cities, somewhere in the north of Scotland or possibly the lake district and wait for the army to destroy the zombies.

Most castles in Britain are just relics and not defendable locations, your best bet if you wanted a castle would be Edinburgh Castle as its high up and could be easily defended from zombies and usualy has a small garrison of soldiers stationed there.

If there was a place called nowhere, I’d be slap bang in the middle of it.
The nearest supermarket is approx’ 5 miles away.
The best weapon I’ve got is a stick or a knife.
Not good.
No supply’s to speak of and no car, all i got is the lack of civilization to protect me, If i was found. . .
I think it would be game over pretty quickly for me. :(

In the event of a real zombie outbreak,listening to this headcase will only get you eaten.Anywhere you need to go would be atleast 200 miles from the nearest civilization to limit zombie contact.These things require more than hitting the local tesco for supplies,just suppose the army didnt know how to cope or were overrun they would saturate bomb the entire area and no amount of tesco value bannana’s is gonna help you.In short you need to prepare now get youre equipment packed have a destination picked (away from civilization) and no how to get there thats about youre best hope of survival........oh and a loads of shotguns,sniper rifles and machetes just incase.

Just read "World War Z" Now true I am a victim of the American public school system but isn’t your country just loaded with medieval castles? I’m thinking Windsor would be a terrific place to hole up. Me? I’m finding the nearest Mormon church and locking the door, they each have a years supply of vittles and only two doors.
