Let’s be honest, blackle does save some energy, and it is a great initiative. The only issue I have with it are colours. They are too gray.

I prefer http://www.keepglobe.com over Blackle. They donate 50% of revenue to a green cause and it is hosted on a server that is powered by wind and sun energy. They also have an image search. Black search engines do not save energy as they claim and also my eyes twitch after seeing that black background.

I dont really care for Blackle it tends to hurt the eyes and they claim the black screen really conserves energy??? I dont know if I really believe all of that. I will say I have found a website that I do like. It is called www.keepglobe.com they have a pretty cool website similiar to blackle without the BLACK screen. They claim they donate 50% of there profits to a green cause. They have alot more cool features on the site compared to blackle as well

Yes, there are several things going on with blackle, but people tend to forget that there is more need of user interactivity then the stupid blackle itself.
Now the age is of VIDEOS users are not going to shift from google to blackle just like that. There is a site named http://www.yaarii.com that gives the option to search videos as well as as the regular web search. I think I would bookmark this site , because it gives the option to see any video in the same page without moving your ass!

Its a joke! The site does not even save the energy is suggested. The site preys in the sheepish qualities of the human race to extract a monetary benefit.

The idea is stolen. If the creator had thought of the idea then one could say the idea was borne out of a genuine desire to help the planet. But no, the idea was stolen with the intention of making money! It is this kind of mentality which causes so much destruction in this world.

If the owner where truly altruistic, he would donate the funds to worthy causes.

In addition, he can’t even come up with an original name for the site. He has ripped this off google.

Lets summarise:

He has stolen someones else’s idea, he has stolen the name of the site, he has misled the world in the most despicable way - by preying on the simplemindedness of humans in order to turn a profit.
