When fan films go wrong, very wrong

Stumbling over various fan footage on Youtube related to Star Wars did I happen upon this gem.

It's nice and satirical but the production values are astonishingly bad. The acting hurrendous and the humour tired and too familiar.

The light sabres look wrong and somehow watching two people jump around their living room re-enacting the end of Episode III. Worth a watch because it's a funny, albeit only if you derive humour from award winningly bad fan films.

It is the name of this particular area of the site, hence the headline at the top... And the fact that one person was open-minded enough to see past said headline as well as the less than flattering commentary which followed does not prove that it is not tainting the view of the public. To name one comment as proof is a hasty generalization. And I’m sorry I said that I hope you get halitosis and an eating disorder...I don’t really hope that. However, I do feel that your action in this case (posting our film on your site with a headline "when fan films go wrong very wrong") was not justified or polite, and
does indeed reflect touch of
douchebaggery in your character. That said, you asked me to keep your character out of this
and focus on your work. Well, as a friend, I would like to tell you that spelling errors do not have
a positive effect on your ethos. Additionally, your condescending and pretentious writing style
is not only dizzying, but boring and cliche. Though I must say, I love the turquoise background on the comments.

Jill
Oh Jill, I’m sure this little exchange will end soon.

Why is it on this site? Because I thought that others may like to see it and clearly as the first comment states I haven’t tainted anyone else’s opinion with my own.

And this site ISN’T a site for BAD FILMS, use your eyes woman; it’s a tech site. The "title" as you put it is a h1 tag, not the name of the site.

Much love.
Excuse me, but I believe that it is wrong to post people’s films on a site for bad fan films...as I said, if you wanted to critique our movie in a youtube comment, I’d tell you to go right ahead and thank you for your input. However, not only are you tainting the view of others who see the film, seeing as the headline here is "when fan films go wrong very wrong." People will watch the movie on this site expecting it to be be
poorly made. Now I believe, in all honesty, that posting our movie on a site with this title was a mark of your character and thus I was perfectly justified in attacking it.

Jill
Here here mate. I’m fed up with little kids hiding behind their computers throwing insults left, right and center because they don’t like what they hear.

It was a fair point about the movie from the authors opinion and to get personal is silly. Try having a debate about somthing if you believe about it so strongly, but don’t crawl through the gutter making offensive comments..
>You posted the film on a site for bad movies

Where? Here? No dear, read the site and you’ll realise that there are like only 2 direct references to videos.

>you attacked my movie, so I attacked your character

Not exactly a fair exchange in my eyes, otherwise you’d be attacking my work rather than my character, in the same way I said I didn’t like your movie rather than anything about you personally.

Humiliate?

If you put something on a social video sharing site, properly tagged up as a star wars fan-film and you didn’t expect any feedback on it of a negative nature... Here’s a little fact, whatever you do will have people who don’t like it and getting all personal when someone doesn’t like your work is like using the mindset of an 8 year old.

Putting your work on the internet exposes it to a lot of people, amazingly not everyone loves everything. But remember, you’re putting YOUR WORK on the internet, not yourself. Therefore when people criticise it, they’re commenting on the work and not you personally, so attacking them back personally is not like for like.

You have highlighted one of the main weaknesses of Youtube and I thank you for that, I have a new article on the way to highlight it.

But please, if you don’t like my WORK then say so, leave the personal comments in the real world where they belong,

You posted the film on a site for bad movies....sorry for not being particularly greatful for the exposure.
And you attacked my movie, so I attacked your character. It seems a perfectly fair exchange. Your
opinion could have been given in a youtube comment, but you went so far as to post it on a
website whose aim is to humiliate innocent kids just trying for a few laughs. So, yes, I stick by my
original claim that you are, in fact, a douchebag.
No I’m sorry but my opinion is valid, nothing I said was a personal attack quite like yours. I commented on my OPINION on the production values and that I thought it was bad.

I’m afraid calling me a douchebag isn’t a professional reply but more a personal attack and that reflects even worse on the you. Especially when you "flame" me for taking the time to write 100 words about your "flick" when you must have spent AGES making it.

I say I don’t like it, you call me a douche. Forgive me for not wishing you the best of luck in the future.
Wow, I love that an elitist prick who has nothing better to do with his time than humiliate a couple of kids who made a little spoof for fun spelled "horrendous" wrong. Way to go, bud. You know, we just posted it on youtube so that we could show it to a few friends. You’re a total douchebag and you deserve halitosis and an eating disorder.
Sterling? Dear god man they were in normal street clothes with pencil-thin light sabres.
What are you on about? Considering they didn’t have a fleet of networked PCs to render the special effects, or $millions to fake them (ala the original-trio), I think that’s a sterling effort =)
