Ubuntu 7.10 to come with DualView for Mulit-Monitor support

Excellent news for those of us Linux fans with more than 1 monitor - Ubuntu 7.10 will come with better dualview support, meaning we finally get some real support for multi-monitor setups, a news release on techtoppics explains.

It's always been a pain getting multiple monitors working properly with Ubuntu. I remember it as being a fun experience gedit'ing the Xorg.conf file to manually specify another monitor and it's settings. No longer! See below:

Looks good to me - anything to make advanced features easier is always going to be a good step in the right direction.

Visit the Ubuntu Wiki for it or view the lists.ubuntu details.

The Ubuntu developers seem to be pushing the project in a nice direction with some very nice functionality on offer. I can't help but wonder whether the size of the project means that it's out-accelerating all the others... Time will tell but it's becoming increasingly clear, Gutsy Gibbon is going to be big.

Yeah; this is nice ... reality is otherwise.
On Dell Latitude 630; no way to get this to work.
I have 2 external screens ( 1 on the DVI 1 on the VGA output).
When ubuntu 7.10 starts; the internal screen activates (even in the lid is closed) and there is no way to get the other screen recognized...
Reality strikes...
Great news! Ubuntu is just awesome.
