Seopher on Google craziness

I follow the number of results for "Seopher" on Google a lot - being a word I created quite some time ago means that the only results for it are relating to me and this site. The number of results varies greatly depending on what I've been doing - if I've been fairly relaxed about writing and marketing the blog it normally only returns 25-40k. If I've had work submitted onto somewhere like LinuxToday it normally increases to 70-100k (because so many sites around the internet use their feed).

The last day or two has been interesting because - almost inexplicably - my results are up to 167k. They were only 144k this morning and 111k yesterday. I'm not sure why this has happened or how long it'll take. There's only one reason I can think for this and that is that the site got accepted into the 9Rules community but I've not become active yet... The number of visitors to the site has remained fairly normal too, as has the number subscribed to the RSS feed so I'm not sure what's been going on.

I'm sure the extra results will disappear as quickly as they appeared but it's just interesting to see what high score I can manage.

Update: today I’m seeing 240,000 results. It just keeps increasing! It must stop eventually.
