Monetizing the website - part one

Monetizing a website/blog is easy to do but difficult to do well. Anyone can place adsense on their pages but it takes real commitment and thought to properly monetize a site and I've decided that the time is right to try it on Seopher.com.

Why?
On a personal note, I purchased a house in December and this wiped out my finances and I'm not earning enough to gain any decent ground in savings... Not that I *need* more money but I'd like a new car, a Nintendo Wii and I'd really like to get our boiler fixed so that I can actually have a consistently hot shower.

Traffic
Traffic has been Ok this month so far, serving around 80,000 pages in 15 days to 20,000 visitors but it's barely made an impact in my Adsense earnings (let alone my Chitika).

Methods of income
I'll continue to push Adsense and Chitika but I'm also trying different avenues. Unless I get a respectable Alexa ranking I'll never receive any money from TLA or ReviewMe (hence the inclusion of the Alexa widget). I've bitten the bullet and created an advertising area at the top right of each page for people to purchase directly. I'm also very interested in the TTZ Advertising Network but unfortunately fall shy of their minimum requirements... Nice guy John "Moto" Chow is, I doubt he's going to accept such a small fish into the TTZ pond.

Part One
Consider this part one of the quest to generate income through my hobby. I'll keep you updated with my findings.

If you have any suggestions on how to improve the monetization of my site, please leave me a comment and I'll investigate.

Update: the site has been running since April and TODAY reached the minimum payout level for Adsense. Slow progress, happy days.

I think John has mentioned that he’s getting TTZ engine rewritten to allow smaller sites in.
