Leaving 9rules: finally removed the leaf. My thoughts on 9rules now.
I don't know when it happened but I surely know the reason. As of an unknown date (it really could be anytime in the past 2 years) my membership from 9rules has been revoked, as such I've removed the leaf from the site.
9rules is a blogging network aimed at aggregating the best writers from various topics into a single place. Essentially, blogs that carried the 9rules leaf were supposed to be the best the web had to offer.
Seopher.com joins 9rules, leaves and then rejoins
Back in December 2006 Seopher.com was accepted into the community. However within the year their policies changed and I resigned my position. I then later returned having had the situation clarified somewhat.
It wasn't the same though, it felt less exclusive for the members and more tailored towards harnessing interaction. While it had previously been a petri dish for blogs to prosper, it no longer felt quite so special. The old 9rules allowed me to mingle with the creator of Deviantart, while the new setup gave me very little platform to progress.
I loved 9rules and I loved the creators - Scrivs, Mike and Tyme are fantastic at what they do. I just think that it stopped being quite so special.
Whatever 9rules used to be and whatever it is now, the fact I'm no longer a member is perfectly justified and I have no qualms about this at all. This is merely a post to bring the whole thing into full circle, beginning to end. Maybe one day I'll wish to be accepted back, and maybe one day I'd make the grade again. But as it stands, we stand apart and I've removed the leaf.
Wish all the best to M, S and T - genuinely amongst the nicest people I've met on my digital adventures.
