John Chow embarrasses us all with his monetization

John Chow is the king of monetization it seems and he is putting all of us to shame. Previously I'd read in awe about his blog's income and put it down to his levels of traffic, but that's not it at all.

Each month he does a review of how the site has performed financially and despite dropping traffic levels he is increasing revenue. In January he claims the site made in excess of $3,000 from 130,000 visitors - astonishing stuff! This site made like $50-100 from 31,000. Oli from ThePCSpy made less than that I believe from 90,000... Add our two sites together and you're looking at $200 max yet we'd be on the same level of traffic and massively under income.

How does he do it?
A major factor is his profile, people are happy to buy advertising on his site because they know the name, they know his work and they respect his opinion. I however, am not a dot com mogul and therefore less people instinctively want a place on my site.

Kudos to John for being an inspirational figure in the world of blogging and being the king of monetization. Kudos.
