I've broken my XDA Orbit phone (with picture)

I've not had the thing 12 months yet and I've already killed it. While out today at Your Horse Live today I accidentily gave my pocket a hard bash with a heavy object I was carrying. Which it didn't like much...

I reviewed this lovely phone back in April and today I killed it. After hitting it awfully hard with a bucket of horse-food I went to check what time it was, only to see the colourful mess the below photo shows:

So I'm a bit annoyed! It's not like I dropped it or anything, I just bashed myself with it. I'm 90% sure the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the 'motherboard' has come loose but I daren't touch it for fear of invalidating the warrenty. Looks like tomorrow I get to spend an hour or two discussing my options with the less-than-helpful people at o2.

Happy days.

Update: I’ve spoken to the people at o2 and I’m just going to send the unit back and they’ll give me a new one within 24 hours.

Not too bad, even if the people on the phone were rather grumpy and unhelpful. Tomorrow is Sunday though, so no hope of getting it sent then. Ho hum!

Also, I’m not interested in the iPhone at this point - although that might change if I had a go on one.

ive always found the people at O2 to be pretty helpfull but ive never had to talk to them about warrenty issues

forget the iPhone, get a phone that actually has features, go nokia, go N95
