Google is to Microsoft what Ewoks are to Jar Jar Binx

A wildly odd claim with a simple premise, people hate Microsoft and not Google in the same way people hated Jar-Jar Binx but not the Ewoks, but why?

Ewoks and Jar-Jar
As a child of the 80's I grew up to watch the original Star Wars triology and therefore see nothing wrong with the use of Ewoks in Return of the Jedi. However, upon the release of the highly anticipated Episode I - The Phantom Menace I nearly broke down in tears upon seeing Jar-Jar. This clown of a character that deserves no place outside of early morning kids TV seemed to ruin an otherwise fairly bad film. But reflecting on both sets of characters in a neutral mindset, they're both utterly rubbish!

ewoksJust because I grew up with Episode VI doesn't mean Ewoks are acceptable, they're pants! They're teddy bears with small people/children inside of them without any realism what-so-ever. How is this more acceptable than a computer generated rastafarian who lives beneath the sea (a sentence I never imagined I'd write). This got me thinking, we all hate Microsoft for one reason or another and yet we hold Google in a golden light and hope that one day we get to be honoured to work for them... Eh?

Why is Google loved when Microsoft is not?
The only difference I can see is that Google aren't attempting to empty the pockets of us (the consumer) as much as MS do, and there is where the differences seem to end. Google are on a conquest for world domination, buying up competitors - just as MS did. They're a big employer who hire less than 1% of applicants because they're looking for the best - similar to MS too?

Google doesn't have an emperor of sorts in the way that Microsoft has Gates so there's another difference but how long is it until we start hating Google? This once great search engine has spread it's wings and got it's fingers in every pie (mixed metaphor I know).

Is it only a matter of time? In my opinion, yes. Google will do something wrong like actually request money for a service and then everyone will stop holding it in such a reverred light.
