Google folds to pressure Google Analytics?

Recently I wrote that you should say goodbye to Google Analytics as you know it because the old interface was being removed on July 18th. Well, it's the 20th now and I'm still looking at it.

Maybe someone should ask Google what's going on because it's unusual for them to be anything other than "Johnny on the spot" with their products so it's making me think that there was sufficient black-lash from the community that they've re-thought the removal of the current interface.

What Google said they were doing
They said they were removing this interface:

analytics

and replace it entirely with this one (without the option to view the old one anymore):

analytics

So I wonder why it's now 2 days beyond the cut-off and Analytics is still claiming that "the old interface will be removed as of July 18th". I've never hidden my feelings for the new interface; calling it a criminal waste of page-space and immeasurably less-helpful than previously.

Have Google folded over pressure or have they forgotten about Analytics entirely? Either way I'm happy because I'm getting more days on a system I'm familiar with than I was expecting. Come on Google, say something!
