Chitika eMinimalls under-performs and gets removed

I've said it before but Chitika isn't all it's cracked up to be. I installed it on the site a few months ago and it's been utterly trounced by the Adsense unit that sits next to it. This removes any quibbles as to poor placement (it is poor placement but an equally poorly located Adsense block far out-performs my eMiniMall).

I've had enough and as you will notice from the bottom of the page - it is gone.

Monetization!
I'm keen to help see the site increase it's financial return as it reaches it's first birthday (albeit I've only been running it seriously since October). I'm not in a position to discuss February's earnings yet but I can disclose that Chitika has only managed to earn me around $3 in the months it has been active.

What to do now
I need some advice on how to monetize the site more, Adsense is performing Okay but I think there's more that can be done. Maybe opting for a second placement below the content was greedy but I have a new placement idea has occured to me that will be implemented shortly.

I'll explain the new unit after it's been properly implemented too. Until then, I can't recommend Chitika eMiniMalls to anyone - I find Adsense blends better and offers much better results.
