Another day, another cease and desist (content theft again)
While stumbling through my incoming links list (and there are an awful lot), I find myself looking at a blog about making money online - fair enough, as long as someone finds my content useful. Only, they've not intended to link to me at all.
Pay-me-a-dollar
Visit the offending post here where they have clearly ripped off my post about making money online. How so? Well open up the offending site and then read my original content and you'll see that it's not quite word-for-word identical: because the blogger has replaced instances of referring to Seopher.com with referring to Paymeadollar.
So this blogger has stolen my content and passed it off as their own. That's so not-on it's unreal.

So where did the link to me come from?
The link to me wasn't from the blogger passing reference to the original content author; no, it was a link I had written in the original post linking to another piece of my own content. At no point does the blogger mention me at all. When I talk about Seopher.com they paste in their site.
So I dropped a comment on the article, seeing as the blogger provides no contact details
No contact details are listed on the site so I felt that it was worth dropping a comment onto the site expressing my disgust. This user has LOADS of ads plastered all over the content - any money made from traffic to my content is money I should have earned. So here was my original comment:

I wish to notify you of the fact that I am fully aware that you have stolen my content. My name is Steve and I run Seopher.com where you have entirely ripped your "More ideas of making money online" article from. My original content is here
just incase you're wondering; so let's look at what you've done.
1. Removed my opening paragraphs - that's fine.
2. Copied my 8 points word for word without recognition to the original author.
3. Replaced references to my site with those to yours. So where I said on my site "of how this site generates money. Seopher.com started as an idle..." you replaced with "of how this site generates money. http://paymedollar.blogspot.com started as an idle...". That is wrong in more ways than i could care to mention.
4. You were stupid enough to leave MY link to MY site's original article (one that this article was a follow-up to) in there. Meaning when I checked my referal logs I find a referal from your site to me - I check it out and find my own content.
This therefore is a cease and desist. You have stolen my content and potentially stolen ad-revenue that this content would have created. Theft is not permitted in any society and the Internet is no different.
Ignorance is not an excuse; you took my content and passed it off as your own without a link back to my site.
Sorry to do this but content theft is the lowest common denominator of the blogger. If this article is not pulled down within a day or twoI will have to notify blogger.com of this infraction and your blog will get closed.
Steven.
And did I get any reply? Anything?
Not a thing. No email from the author and the content hasn't been pulled. It's also been more than a couple of days (a month at least) so I've reported this user to Blogger. You can't steal my content and get away with it; yes, take my content and say "Steve from Seopher.com wrote this" and that's fine. Say I wrote it and put a big fat link back to me on the content. However you CANNOT put my content on your site and change the name of the author!
Without question I hope this blog gets closed. I don't care that the author seems to be an attractive asian woman: all I care about is justice.
I wish this sort of thing didn't bother me but it really gets on my nerves when "bloggers" don't have the ability to create their own thoughts and therefore have to steal someone elses - especially when they think they take all the credit for doing so. If blogger fails to close the site then I'll take things further. This person does not deserve any popularity when behaving like this. Rant over =)
